Henry Rouslin (Mancala)
Henry Rouslin is an author, game designer, and aspiring playwright. He is a sophomore looking to major in English and minor in theater. He is currently writing a cartoon pilot about queer rights and D&D, as well as a secret project titled "Musical: The Musical.

DIRECTORS

Xinbei Lin (Mancala, In Love)
Xinbei Lin is a senior majoring in Theater Arts and Anthropology. She is very excited about working with Free Play for the first time! She was the assistant director for We Are Proud to Present… at Brandeis and directed one of the plays for the Quickies short play festival. Besides, she performed with the Double Edge Theatre, and appeared in musicals at Trinity College, Hartford. She wishes to thank her friends and family for their constant support!

Ruthi Wasserman (The Zachelor, Tinder)
Ruthi Wasserman is a sophomore studying Theatre and Near Eastern and Judaic Studies. She Assistant Directed The Tempest in Spring ‘20 under Christopher V. Edwards and Directed Barefoot in the Park at SUNY Purchase in Spring ‘19. Ruthi is excited and humbled to be directing with Freeplay this semester and hopes to continue directing with them in the future! Thank you to the Freeplay board for initiating and organizing this fantastic project in this crazy time, to all the prod staff and actors for continuing to do what you love even if it may feel different, and to Zoom for being a great tool to connect with each other. FILMMAKERS

Casper Wang (In Love)
Casper is a senior and he is excited to be part of the creative team of this project. Some of the roles he took on before were “Anthony Marston” in the play “And Then There Were None” and Borachio in “Much Ado About Nothing”. This time, he assumes the position of film editor/videographer to put together one of the pieces in Population 1. He is always seeking creative ways to enrich the theater community in Brandeis and he wants to thank all his friends who have been supportive along the way.

Jacob Krah (Mancala)
Jacob Krah is a sophomore majoring in Chemical Biology and minoring in Creativity, the Arts, and Social Transformation (CAST). He is excited to be working as a Cinematographer on a Theatrical Work, two things that usually don’t coincide in the collegiate space. Previously he performed in two senior thesis pieces as Haroon and Man 1 in To Be a Problem (2020) and Kaelan in Our Day Will Come (2020), and as Warner Huntington III in the 24-Hour Musical production of Legally Blonde the Musical.

ACTORS

Casey Bachman - In Love (Narrator), The Zachelor (Liz)
Casey is a Senior double majoring in Theater and History. She is so excited to be working with free play again. Past Brandeis roles include Grace (Of a Mirror and it’s Fragments), Jess (Hookman), and Ophelia (Hamlet). You can also catch Casey performing with her improv group Bad Grammer. Also look out for Casey’s thesis in the Senior Thesis Festival with Brandeis Theater Arts this spring! She wants to thank her friends and family for always supporting her artistic endeavors.
Lindsay Dawes - The Zachelor (Catherine), Mancala (Red)
Lindsay Dawes is a senior graduating with a double major in Anthropology and Psychology. She is thrilled and grateful to be working with FreePlay again, especially on such an interesting project in these strange times! Favorite past credits include Of A Mirror and Its Fragments (Grandmother/Narrator), Five Kinds of Silence (Female), Lucid (Dawn), Into the Woods (The Baker’s Wife), and The Sparrow (Phoebe). You can also listen to her as Charlotta in FreePlay’s podcast production of Anton Pavlovich’s Garden Club!

Donna DeChambeau - Tinder (Tinder Girl), Mancala (White)
Donna is a freshman on the pre med track considering majoring in HSSP and Biology. This will be her first production at Brandeis but previous credits include: The Addams Family (Pugsley Addams), 42nd Street (Dorothy Brock), Grease, The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), Anything Goes, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Wife 11). In addition to theatre, Donna is also a member of Too Cheap for Instruments, an all female folk and folk-pop a capella group and is a volunteer with the Waltham Group: Junior Brandeis Achievers. Donna wants to thank Freeplay for making her introduction into theater at Brandeis so exciting and unique!

David Shapiro - Mancala (Eric), Tinder (Tinder Boys), The Zachelor (Cole) *filmmaker for Tinder
David is a first-year student planning to major in computer science and filmmaking. Being new to Brandeis, this will be David’s theatrical debut with Free Play David previously acted on the Concord Carlisle high school stage in performances such as The Laramie Project (Matt Galloway, Father Roger), The Drowsy Chaperone (The Man in the Chair), and Metamorphoses (Vertumnus). Along with theatre, David writes a weekly cartoon for the Brandeis Hoot. David would like to thank Freeplay for all the hard work that went into making this happen and he hopes you enjoy the performances!

Eliana Weiss -Tinder (Narrator), The Zachelor (Miranda)
Eliana is a senior studying Theatre Arts and Linguistics. Credits: Advice to the Players: Montague and Capulet (reading, Valentina); British American Drama Academy: Hamlet (Horatio); Brandeis Department of Theatre Arts: Margaret My Name (Duchess Eleanor, Prince Edward, Queen Elizabeth), Dream A Little Dream, Lucid (River); Brandeis UTC: Arcadia (Thomasina Coverly); Hold Thy Peace: Twelfth Night (Viola), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Mustardseed), Hamlet (Gravedigger, Guildenstern). Eliana has trained in London at the British American Drama Academy, and at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA.
