Brandeis University's FreePlay Theatre Cooperative

PlayBack Theatre
PlayBack Theatre is an improvisation-based form of community theatre in which members of a performing ensemble invite their audiences to share true stories and see them reenacted live on stage. Through movement, music, abstraction, and metaphor, we hope to provide an experience of empathy and catharsis for audience members as they are able to process moments from their lives in an artistic and caring space. FreePlay’s Playback troupe has been known to perform shows in collaboration with other groups on Brandeis’s campus to provide a space for Brandesians to share their stories and heal as a community.
Playback has been inactive this semester due to Covid-19 restrictions, however, we hope to be back and playing in the future!
